If this isn’t depressing I don’t know what is. I’m not a Lakers fan but I’m a fan of competitors. I’m a fan of legends. I’m a fan of players who give it their all. No one gave it their all like Kobe. There’s no way you can’t respect him or his greatness. So sad for a legend like him to go out like this.
In all likeliness, tonight was the last time we’ll see him play. He’s 34 and a torn achilles usually take a year to recover. He was planning on retiring after next season but he won’t have a next season.
As a huge nba fan this is very depressing cause it won’t be the same without him. I knew if be sad when he’d retire but this is tougher cause he’s not leaving on a good note. He’s not leaving because he’s done, he’s leaving because his body is done.
…but Kobe has always been half robot and never showed full human characteristics. I mean this was his 3rd injury of just tonight’s game. Knowing Kobe, he’ll go back to Germany or go to Antarctica or something to get treatment. Hopefully this isn’t the end. If it is, no denying he’s a top 5 all time.
You can’t compare his acl to others though. For many reasons actually
1) He relies more on athleticism
2) He’s way more explosive
3) He’s a franchise player
4) There’s more pressure on him
5) More money invested in him
He’ll come back when he’s ready. Simple as that.

The NBA really isn’t the same without Derrick Rose playing..
Instead of doing homework, I’ve been sitting here watching old Allen Iverson highlights. He’s by far my favorite player of all time and then I realized he reminds me so much of my favorite current player, Derrick Rose. And I really started to compare the way they play and who’ll have the better career in the end. And then it came to me.
Rose can be what Allen Iverson was, but will never be what Allen Iverson was capable of being.
